Additional Disabilities

In 2022, 88% of children were identified as having one or more additional disabilities, most commonly speech/language impairments (77%), cognitive impairments (64%), and orthopedic/physical impairments (58%). Approximately half (52%) were identified as having complex healthcare needs.

The number with multiple additional disabilities has increased over time. In 2005, just 13% had four or more additional disabilities. In 2022, the number was 44%.
